a minimal charge for the tours ($2.00 each) or donations.
1) Walterdale Walking Tour (meeting place TBA)
Join us for an afternoon walk through the Saskatchewan River Valley, in the area named for one of Edmonton'gs most famous pioneers, entrepeneurs and innovators. John Walter's story is a fascinating one, and is closely linked to the landscape of the
valley. To be in the valley, near all three of John Walter's homes, sets a stage for discussion of a a variety of topics: Edmonton's fur trade and the transition formthis to the settlement period; the river as the main route for trade and transportation; economic
development of the community and th edevelopment of the early entrepeneur.
The tour will be led by Tim Marriott of the Edmonton and District Historical Society. Wear your walking shoes, bring your camera, and be prepared to enjoy an informative walk.
2) University of Alberta and Garneau District Tour
(meeting place TBA)
This tour will focus on architect Cecil Scott Burgess and his impact on both the University of Alberta and the Garneau District. Burgess played an important role in shaping Alberta's social and physical enivronment. Afterwards participants may require
several beers at a campus pub.Tour guide: TBA
3)Rutherford House Provincial Historic Site
Please note there will be one 5 p.m. tour and one 6:30 tour.

Situated on the University of Alberta campus, Rutherford House Provincial Historic Site is the home of the first Premier of Alberta, Alexander Cameron Rutherford and his wife Mattie. This post Edwardian mansion is restored to 1915, when it welcomed the
political and social elite of Alberta.
