The following lists are the plants and animals living in the Necaxa Valley that we have had named for us and which we have managed to idenitify. Each is provided with a Totonac, English, and Spanish name, as well as their scientific designation and some information about their uses and any local stories or beliefs there are surrounding it.

Se hierve la cáscara para la diabetes. El tiernito de la punta es muy bueno, sirve para la vista tomándolo en té.

Children play with the flowers, they blow into them and pop them with their hands or throw them into the fire. Chewed to cure toothaches, buccal infections, and chest congestion. It also cures rashes when ground, mixed with oil and spread on as a plaster. The leaf is roasted and used as a cure for bed-wetting.; Sp. siemprevive, tornador, oreja de burro (Sedum dendroideum), planta con vainas que sirven de sonaja.
