Teaching Resources

There are several resources available to you to help with planning your courses, teaching your students, and marking your assignments.

The Moodle

GSEC maintains a Moodle, a combination resource board and discussion forum. The Moodle is password-protected and for the use of grad students only. It contains lecture notes, tips on teaching strategies, and on-going discussions.

Centre For Writers

The Centre for Writers is a free resource for tutoring and essay help that you can suggest your students take advantage of. Students are able to book appointments online for either a 1/2 hour or a full hour (for the full hour appointments, two 1/2 hours must be booked back to back). The C4W is open from 10-5 Monday to Friday, and is located at 1-42 Assiniboia Hall. You can also request that a tutor visit your class to speak to the students about the C4W by clicking here and filling out a short form.

You are also welcome to visit the C4W yourselves for a second opinion on grant applications, term papers, or dissertation chapters.

The EFS Website

The department has a grading guide, which is extremely helpful when marking essays.
