The Mannekin Pis, a beloved symbol of Brussels, predates itself. In the 15th century, a fountain called 'manneken-pis' already existed in the Stoofstraat/Rue de l'étuve. In 1619 the sculptor Jerome Duquesnoy created a new bronze statue to replace the old one. |
