About Me
I am a 3rd-year PhD Candidate interested in pre-European contact and protohistoric Northwest Coast history. Specifically, I am interested in hunter-gatherer subsistence, hunter-gatherer resource management, zooarchaeology, intensification, subsistence technologies and the archaeology of fishing.
Current Research
My PhD research examines a suite of intertidal resource management features in Tla'amin Traditional Territory, near Powell River, British Columbia. My research focuses on intertidal resource management features (fish traps, clam gardens), and the archaeological signatures of their use (fish and shellfish remains). This research is being conducted as part of the Simon Fraser University - Tla'amin Nation Archaeological and Heritage Stewardship Program co-directed by Dana Lepofsky, John Welch (SFU), and Michelle Washington (Sliammon First Nation).
