
Exhibit on "James Clarke Hook and Painters of the Sea," Tate Britain
In celebration of Hook's centenary in 2007, Tate Britain presents an exhibit of selected works by Hook, including "Compass'd by the inviolate sea" (1861) and "Wreckage from the fruiter" (1889), and by some of those who followed him in similar subject matter, such as John Brett, Henry Moore, Frank Bramley, and Stanhope Forbes.
Study Day, October 18, 2007: In association with the above exhibit, Tate Britain announces a Study Day on coastal painters represented in the exhibit. Speakers at the event include Alison Bevan, Katharine Lochnan, Juliet McMaster and Christiana Payne.
