A Widow's Son Going to Sea - Watercolour Sketch

James Clarke Hook, watercolour sketch of "A widow's son
going to sea" of 1857.
See "Then and Now"
for a photograph of the actual painting. Evidently Hook had sketched
his large oil painting, giving dimensions, for a potential buyer. Since
the original painting is untraced, this sketch is the only version that
shows the colours.
Collection of Juliet McMaster.
