A note on the source for The Story of Grandmother

The Story of Grandmother comes from a manuscript in the collection of A.Millien, who had written it down from an oral telling by Louis and François Briffault, at Montigny-aux-Amonges, Nièvre, around 1884.

It was published by Paul Delarue, in a study of various versions of the Little Red Riding Hood story in "Les Contes Merveileux de Perrault et la tradition populaire: I. Le Petit Chaperon", Bulletin folklorique d'Ile-de-France (1951), 221-228, 251-260, 283-291; (1953), 511-517.
