IGEL 2004AccommodationParticipants have two options when booking a room through the conference. A block of rooms has been reserved for us at a special conference rate at the Delta Hotel; and student accommodation is available at Lister Centre on the University of Alberta campus (this requires a short walk and LRT journey (light rail) to reach the conference site). The following sections explain how to book a room, and provide additional information about accommodation in Edmonton for those who wish to book independently. Rooms have been reserved for the nights of August 3rd through 6th. If you anticipate arriving earlier or staying longer, please be sure to book early so that the extra nights you require are available. The Delta Edmonton Centre Suite Hotel is able to offer either a single bedroom (a Delta Room) for $95 per night, or a one-bedroom suite (a sitting room and separate bedroom) for $105 (these prices do not include applicable taxes, currently 12%, or breakfast). Cost of breakfast in the hotel restaurant ranges from around $9 to $15. All bedrooms provide high-speed Internet access, queen-sized beds, mini-bar, coffee-maker, and other facilities. The cost is the same whether the room is occupied by one or two guests (additional guests up to a total of four cost an additional $10 per night per person). To make a booking, participants can visit Delta's online registration website at: http://www.deltaedmontoncentre.com/igelconference Or you can call the in-house Reservations Department at 1-800-661-6655 or the Global Reservation Department at 1-800-268-1133. Reservations can also be made via email at decsh@deltahotels.com or via fax at 780-428-1566. When making the booking cite IGEL. Bookings can be made any time during the coming months, but must be made prior to July 2, 2004. Note that availability of rooms cannot be guaranteed -- please book early! Lister Centre student rooms, on the University of Alberta campus, will be available for booking prior to June 30th 2004. You can choose either a basic room (shared bathroom facilities with other rooms in the corridor), for $33.60 single per night, or $44.80 twin; or a superior single room with private bathroom for $50.40. To make a booking, please download the appropriate form and mail or fax it with your payment to the address shown on the form: Rooms for IGEL conference participants are reserved for August 3rd through 6th. If you wish to arrive earlier or stay longer, be sure to indicate this on the form in the Check-in or Check-out box, but note that a longer stay is subject to availability of space (so you are advised to book early). In choosing lodging, you will want to note that the conference site in the Delta Hotel is at 10222-102 Street, which is in the centre of the downtown area in the Edmonton Centre. |
