THE TAKE Magazine
A publication of the Sociology Graduate Student's Association of the University of Alberta

The Take is envisioned as a very open forum, having the spirit of a grassroots zine, full of passionate articles, recipes, cartoons etc. It can be a space for spillage: all of the joy, anger and enthusiasm that doesn't quite fit into your term papers or exams, we'll TAKE it! The Take is also a publication of reclamation, taking media and academic publishing into our own hands.

Submissions can include (but obviously are not limited to): short articles, cartoons, rants, recipes, upcoming events, book/ movie/ event/ wi-fi café reviews, manifestos, poetry, serial novellas (ooh that would be fun). Please send submissions to takemagazine@gmail.com. If you wish to submit visuals, you can submit them with "The Take" on the envelope to the SGSA mailbox in the departmental office. Also, if you want to help with the production of the Take, email us at this address.

We are also pleased to present: The Limits of Love: An Advice Column
Love is a futile chasing after something that doesn't exist; it is a fantasy of fusion. Making love occurs at the limits of the sexual relationship and touches on a real experience of which we know nothing. To love is to give what we do not have.   It is impossible to say anything intelligible about love; it is something we don't want to  know anything about.  This column offers advice to all those who want to take love to its limit.   You are invited to submit questions and problems on all topics of sex or love. (These queries can also be sent to this email address and they will be forwarded to the columnist.)

Sincerely,
The Take editors
Heidi Bickis, Heather Holroyd, Tonya Davidson, Olga Pak and Ondine Park
